The University of Chicago is a top-tier American university on par with the vaunted Ivy League and other exceptional schools, like Stanford. It is exceptionally hard to get into as an American, but especially hard to get into if you are an international applicant. Only 16% of undergraduates at the university are international students, which is a lot if you are not an international student but is a tiny slice if you’re one of the thousands of international applicants trying to get into the university. We routinely help international students pull off an acceptance by the University of Chicago. In this post, we’ll give you a peek into our playbook.
The University of Chicago has been shaking up their admissions policies as of late, and it seems they have a new path to admission. This summer, UChicago added what we’ve been calling an ED0 option (more on that later), and recently, we became aware of UChicago offering students who applied ED and ED2 a provisional transfer option. If this sounds familiar to you, you’re probably aware of the Cornell Transfer Option. So what does this mean for you, the applicant, and what do these changes mean for UChicago as a whole?
If you are reading this, you were either waitlisted by the University of Chicago or are very committed to planning ahead. Either way, we’ve got you. In this post, we’ll give you the tools you need to charge a successful future in college, with or without the University of Chicago — but hopefully with if you play the waitlist right.
The University of Chicago (UChicago) is a private research university located in, you guessed it, Chicago, Illinois. UChicago is one of the most popular colleges amongst our clients, and it’s one of the best places to study things like econ, public policy, business, and math. UChicago is considered an “Ivy+” school, which means we categorize it along with other highly selective non-Ivies like Stanford, MIT, and Duke because of their rigor and exclusivity. If you’re serious about UChicago, we implore you to apply early, and we’re going to make the case for why.
