What makes someone the best at something? It can be a hard question to answer. When it comes to college admissions services, we believe we are the best. But what does that mean? What does it look like? It’s easy to say that we are good at our jobs. Every year we get over 88% of our students into their top choice school and every year that percentage increases. It’s the highest acceptance rate of any college consulting firm. Does that make us the best?
From a purely numerical standpoint, we think you could argue that, but we think there is more to being the best. We think being the best all comes from the approach. To be the best, it’s all about creativity, flexibility, and time.
Creativity is central to crafting the perfect college essay. It isn’t just about the story you tell but how you choose to tell it. Every student we work with starts with some intense brainstorming. We push our students to really think about what they want to tell colleges. We want to get to the root of what kind of person they are and then shape that into a narrative. Once we know what we want to write about, we help every student think outside of the box. Great college essays are unique and impactful. That can be a tall order for a student that doesn’t have a lot of creative writing practice. Our counselors can’t write the essays for students, but they can help them shape and craft an essay that will make admissions officers take notice.
Each student is different and that is why flexibility is so important. From learning differences to busy schedules to skill sets, we have seen it all. The college admissions process isn’t one size fits all. Our counselors take time to assess each student's needs. We do a lot more than just essay writing. We can set up our students with opportunities. We can work on their resumes. We can help them find their dream school. It’s all based on what they need. We think it’s essential to cater to the individual and that’s something a lot of other services don’t do.
We get to be the best because we take the time to be the best. A lot of services are proofreading services. They edit a document that the student wrote on their own. They often just focus on grammar. Don’t get us wrong, grammar is important, but it’s not enough for the vast majority of students. We make sure our students have time to think and draft and rework. We make sure we are there for every step of the process. Services that only do editing are missing some of the most important steps to crafting a show-stopping essay. And that is what we do.
What does it mean to be the best? For us, it’s about commitment. It’s a commitment to quality, yes. But more importantly, it’s a commitment to our students. We want to push them to be the best they can be and support them during this difficult process fully. We have to be the best for our clients. We think they deserve someone who will be with them every step of the way.
